Following the high-level visit to Moscow of the Chairperson of the Council of Governors and the Governors of the Lake Region Economic Block, Charge D’Affaires of the Republic of Kenya Mrs.Winnie Mwanjala invited to the Embassy of the Republic of Kenya the representatives of FSBI Research Institute “Voskhod” to continue the dialogue started at the meeting in the Russian Export Center. FSBI “Voskhod” is one of the leading solution providers in the field of “smart city” and “e-government”. Both sides exchanged their opinions and experiences with digitalization of state in the Republic of Kenya and the Russian Federation, outlined the areas of further cooperation and worked out the next steps for effective implementation of the solutions in the counties of the Lake Region Economic Bloc (LREB), Kenya.
On 21st June, 2019, Mrs. Winnie Mwanjala, Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Kenya to the Russian Federation, held a meeting with Dr. Philip Kamau, CEO, Fund for Export Development in Africa, and Ms Gwen Mwaba, Director & Global Head Trade Finance, AfreximBank. At the meeting the parties identified areas of cooperation, with food security, manufacturing, and SME support being among them.
On 30 May, 2019, the Charge d’Affairs of the Republic of Kenya to the Russian Federation Mrs. Winnie Mwanjala attended the International Business Forum “Russia-Africa: Partnership for Development” at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation, where she took part in the plenary session. The forum was organized by the Fund for development of innovative entrepreneurship under the CCI RF.
On 7 June, 2019, in Saint-Petersburg the Embassy held a reception for Kenyan Diaspora in Russia. The reception was attended by the CS for Foreign Affairs H.E. Monica Juma, DPhil, CBS, and other senior officials. The Diaspora was addressed by the CS for Foreign Affairs and Mrs. Winnie Mwanjala, Charge d’Affaires. Mr. Brian Omosa on behalf of the Kenyan students in Russia also addressed the guests with a speech.
