H.E. Madame Madalena Fischer, the Ambassador of Portugal to Russia paid a courtesy call on, H.E. Ben H.O. Ogutu, MBS- the Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya in the Russian Federation on Thursday 10th March 2022.
The meeting discussed the forth coming United Nations Ocean Conference scheduled to take place in Lisbon, Portugal from 27th June to 1st July 2022. The Ocean Conference, co-hosted by the Governments of Kenya and Portugal, comes at a critical time as the world is seeking to address many of the deep-rooted problems laid bare by the COVID-19 pandemic and which will require major structural transformations and common shared solutions that are anchored in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Conference will seek to propel much needed science-based innovative solutions aimed at starting a new chapter of global ocean action.
The Ambassadors agreed to enhance collaboration in marketing the Conference to ensure it is successful.
